Abstract
The aim of this research is to find out the correlation between electrogastrography (EGG) and gastric emptying test in patient with long time diabetic gastroparesis and healthy subject. EGG is a process for recording the Gastric electromechanical activity using surface electrode in the abdominal wall. Diabetic gastroparesis patient have chronic syndrome of gastric motility, this type of patient is recognized by gastric emptying test that is called by scintigraphy. Total 30 subjects are included in this study, 15 diabetic gastro paresis patient and 15 healthy subjects. EGG recording duration time is total 90 minutes, pre-fed 30 minutes and post -fed 60 minutes. The technique known as electrogastrography, we studied the pre and postprandial response of gastric myoelectrial activity in subjects of diabetic gastroparesis and control groups. This two group analysis after meal correlation showed that of Electrogastrography and Gastric Emptying test Result predictive of 64% respond to each other. This could imply a mechanism for delayed gastric emptying test and EGG has good correlation. The gastric emptying test was taken in the Nuclear Medicine Department in Bezmialem medical University.
