Abstract
Burnout can be seen in any profession, and it is more common in professions that serve people immediately than face to face relationship with people. Today, nurses are at risk of burnout due to reasons such as working conditions, overtime, and high working hours. To determine the burnout levels of nurses and what affects burnout, to emphasize the importance of the subject. The data of the study were obtained from the nurses. The aim was to reach all 190 volunteer nurses working in this private hospital (n=121). As the data collection tools, "The Nurse Introductory Form" describing the socio-demographic and professional characteristics prepared specifically for the study as a result of the literature reviews and "The Burnout Inventory-Short Form" were used to determine the levels of burnout. "SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) for Windows 17. 0 program" was used to analyze the obtained data and descriptive statistical methods were used. Significance level was taken as p <0.05. 22.3% of the nurses surveyed had very low burnout levels, 32.2% had danger signals for burnout, 26.5% were in burnout and 12.4% had a serious burnout problem. It was determined that 6.6% of them should get professional help as soon as possible. With the analyzes, the effect of socio-demographic and professional variables on burnout was examined. It was observed that gender, marital status and education level, which are among the socio-demographic variables, did not affect burnout. When the professional characteristics were examined, it was observed that the variables such as whether the nurses were working whether they worked in their own departments, whether they were shifts, and the duration of experience in the institution and unit did not affect burnout. The burnout levels of nurses, their age, childbearing and income status, total experience duration, the number of weekly vigils they hold weekly, their night vigil, voluntary work and overtime were not satisfied with their own wishes, and their burnout levels were analyzed. According to the results of the study, the relationship between burnout and age was negatively correlated with increasing age. Burnout levels of nurses who had more nightly attacks were found higher than others. The burnout levels of the nurses who were on duty and worked overtime were found to be less. It was observed that the burnout levels of the nurses who were satisfied with working in the institution were significantly low. Institution administrators should apply preventive and preventive measures to reduce the burnout levels of nurses who have a great share in the health sector and to increase the quality of health services provided in the institution. It will be effective for the nurses to activate their activities to increase their motivation.
