Intumenscentia septi nasi anterior is an anatomical variation in the nasal cavity, first described by Morgagni in 1662; septal turbinate and tuberculum septi nasi anterior are among the various other names attributed to this anatomical structure. It is an expandable vascular network which develops from the septal mucosa. Computed tomography, following history-taking and physical examination, is a valuable tool in diagnosing turbinate pneumatisation. This paper reports the case of a 23-year-old female with nasal stuffiness as her primary complaint, who was found to have pneumatization of the septum mimicking the septal concha. Pneumatization of the septal turbinate may also be a cause of septal enlargement. The symptomatology, diagnosis and treatment options for cases of septal turbinate are discussed. The surgical interventions performed in the presented case are briefly described. The presented patient had a pneumatization of the septal turbinate, like those of the conchae. It is reported for the first time in medical literature, and the histological and functional similarities of the septal turbinate and of the nasal conchae are pointed out. Juvenile nasopharyngeal angio-broma is the most common benign tumor of the nasopharynx with complaints of unilateral nasal obstruction and recurrent nosebleeds in the young male population. Despite being a benign tumor, it can be aggressively destructive in surrounding tissues and bones by acting locally. (e gold standard treatment method is the surgical excision of the tumor. (is case report is a case of angio-broma, a 32-year-old asymptomatic male patient with no evidence of clinical signs and endoscopic examination, which is recognized as a localized vascular mass lesion in the right sphenoid sinus on the cranial MR imaging. We prepared this case report that may represent an angio-broma localized only within the sphenoid sinus which is very rare in the literature.

Objectives: This study aims to compare the serum, tonsil surface epithelial tissue and parenchyma levels of melatonin in children who underwent tonsillectomy due to recurrent tonsillitis. Patients and Methods: The study included 33 pediatric patients (17 males, 16 females; mean age 7.3 years; range, 3 to 10 years) scheduled for tonsillectomy surgery. Five milliliter venous blood samples and 25 g of two different types of tonsil tissues, parenchyma and capsule were collected from the patients and stored. High performance liquid chromatography was used for the determination of melatonin in plasma and tissue samples. Results: The tonsil surface tissue levels of melatonin were lower than the simultaneous plasma levels of melatonin (p<0.0135). The plasma levels of melatonin were higher than the simultaneous tonsil parenchyma tissue levels of melatonin (p<0.016). The tonsil surface tissue levels of melatonin were lower than the simultaneous tonsil parenchyma tissue levels of melatonin (p<0.002). Conclusion: The plasma concentrations of melatonin and tonsil surface epithelial tissue and parenchyma concentrations of melatonin in children with chronic tonsillitis were low. According to this finding, we may recommend serum levels of melatonin to be checked in patients indicated for tonsillectomy
