The most common sequela of myringotomy is myringosclerosis. It has recently been shown that the development of myringosclerosis after myringotomy occurs concomitantly with an increased concentration of reactive oxygen species in the middle-ear cavity and an inflammatory reaction in the tympanic membrane. To assess the effect of pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate on acute inflammation due to myringotomy.
