Health Behavior in School Age Children survey questionnaire was used. Of the students surveyed, 20% were both bully and victim, 11% were bully, and 21% were victim. Being male, poor parental support, and poor monitoring by the father were found to be risk factors for being both bully and victim. Poor academic achievement, having peers at different ages, poor quality of friendship, poor communication with parents, and not being isolated by peers were found to be risk factors for being bully. Not liking school, feeling pressured by school work, poor quality of friendship, poor monitoring by the father, close bonding with mother, and poor status of the peer group were found to be risk factors for being victim. These findings highlight the importance that bullying intervention programs should include country-specific and culture-specific influences for success.Publication Metadata only SOCIO-ECONOMIC FACTORS THAT AFFECT PERCEIVED HEALTH STATUS OF TURKISH ADOLESCENTS(2011-02-01T00:00:00Z) Erginoz, Ethem; Alikasifoglu, Mujgan; Ercan, Oya; Albayearak-Kaymak, Deniz; Uysal, Omer; UYSAL, ÖMERPublication Metadata only DIFFERENCES IN HEALTH BEHAVIORS BETWEEN URBAN AND RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN AGED 11-13 YEARS IN TURKEY: FINDINGS FROM THE HEALTH BEHAVIOR IN SCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN STUDY 2006(2010-02-01T00:00:00Z) Alikasifoglu, Mujgan; Erginoz, Ethem; Ercan, Oya; Uysal, Omer; Albayrak-Kaymak, Deniz; UYSAL, ÖMERPublication Metadata only ASSOCIATION BETWEEN LIFE SATISFACTION AND PEER CHARACTERISTICS AMONG TURKISH ADOLESCENTS(2012-02-01) Ercan, Oya; Alikasifoglu, Mujgan; Erginoz, Ethem; Uysal, Omer; Kaymak, Deniz Albayrak; UYSAL, ÖMERPublication Metadata only FACTORS ASSOCIATED WITH OVERWEIGHT AND OBESITY AMONG TURKISH ADOLESCENTS(2011-02-01) Ercan, Oya; Erginoz, Ethem; Alikasifoglu, Mujgan; Albayearak-Kaymak, Deniz; Uysal, Omer; UYSAL, ÖMERPublication Metadata only Differences in health and health behaviors between urban and rural school children aged 11-13 years in Turkey: findings from the health behavior in school-aged children study 2006(2010-06-01T00:00:00Z) Alikasifoglu, Muejgan; Erginoz, Ethem; Ercan, Oya; Uysal, Omer; Ekici, Bans; Ocak, Sueheyla; Oktay, Guelsah; Yucel, Ilker; Albayrak, Deniz Kaymak; UYSAL, ÖMERAim: The aim of the study was to determine the differences between rural and urban adolescents- health and health behaviors.
