Publication Metadata only Which Cholinesterase Inhibitor is the Safest for the Heart in Elderly Patients With Alzheimer-s Disease?(2012-05-01T00:00:00Z) ISIK, Ahmet Turan; BOZOGLU, Ergun; YAY, Adnan; Soysal, PINAR; ATESKAN, Umit; SOYSAL, PINARObjective: Cholinesterase inhibitors (ChEIs) are widely used for the treatment of Alzheimer-s disease (AD); however, their cholinergic side effects on the cardiovascular system are still unclear. In this study, we aimed to examine the side effects caused by donepezil, rivastigmine, and galantamine on cardiac rhythm and postural blood pressure changes in elderly patients with AD. Methods: Of 204 consecutive elderly patients who were newly diagnosed with AD, 162 were enrolled and underwent comprehensive geriatric assessments. The electrocardiographs (ECGs) and blood pressures were recorded at the baseline and 4 weeks after the dose of 10 mg/d of donepezil, 10 cm2/d of rivastigmine, and 24 mg/d of galantamine. Results: There were no changes relative to the baseline in any of the ECG parameters or arterial blood pressure with any of the administered ChEIs. Conclusion: It was demonstrated that none of the 3 ChEIs were associated with increased negative chronotropic, arrhythmogenic, and hypotensive effects for the elderly patients with AD.Publication Metadata only The Relationship Between the Dietary Inflammatory Index and Incident Frailty: A Longitudinal Cohort Study.(2018-01-01T00:00:00Z) SHIVAPPA, N; STUBBS, B; HÉBERT, JR; CESARI, M; SCHOFIELD, P; Soysal, PINAR; MAGGI, S; VERONESE, N; SOYSAL, PINARPublication Metadata only Which Rivastigmine Formula is Better for Heart in Elderly Patients With Alzheimer-s Disease: Oral or Patch?(2014-12-01T00:00:00Z) Isik, Ahmet Turan; Soysal, PINAR; YAY, Adnan; SOYSAL, PINARObjective: Rivastigmine is commonly used for the treatment of Alzheimer-s disease (AD). All cholinesterase inhibitors, including rivastigmine, may cause cardiac side effects. The aim of this study is to compare the electrocardiographic (ECG) and hypotensive effects of formulations of rivastigmine.Publication Metadata only Comment on -Serum uric acid is associated with better executive function in men but not in women: Baseline assessment of the ELSA-Brasil study-(2017-10-01T00:00:00Z) Soysal, PINAR; SOYSAL, PINARPublication Metadata only Reply by Authors.(2021-12-01T00:00:00Z) Pizzol, Damiano; Trott, Mike; Grabovac, Igor; Yang, Lin; Barnett, Yvonne; Parris, Christopher; McDermott, Daragh T; Veronese, Nicola; Kronbichler, Andreas; Ghayda, Ramy Abou; Soysal, PINAR; Jacob, Louis; Tully, Mark A; Koyanagi, Ai; Law, Christopher Tejun; Kaya, Coskun; Thirumavalavan, Nannan; Loeb, Aram; Garolla, Andrea; Park, Seoyeon; Shin, Jae Il; Ilie, Petre Cristian; Smith, Lee; SOYSAL, PINARPublication Metadata only Human Monkeypox: A Comprehensive Narrative Review and Analysis of the Public Health Implications.(2022-08-12T00:00:00Z) Di Gennaro, Francesco; Veronese, Nicola; Marotta, Claudia; Shin, Jae Il; Koyanagi, Ai; Silenzi, Andrea; Antunes, Mario; Saracino, Annalisa; Bavaro, Davide Fiore; Soysal, PINAR; Segala, Francesco Vladimiro; Butler, Laurie; Milano, Eugenio; Barbagallo, Mario; Barnett, Yvonne; Parris, Christopher; Nicastri, Emanuele; Pizzol, Damiano; Smith, Lee; SOYSAL, PINARPublication Metadata only Relationship between depression and frailty in older adults: A systematic review and meta-analysis.(2017-07-01T00:00:00Z) Soysal, PINAR; VERONESE, N; THOMPSON, T; KAHL, KG; FERNANDES, BS; PRINA, AM; SOLMI, M; SCHOFIELD, P; KOYANAGI, A; TSENG, PT; LIN, PY; CHU, CS; COSCO, TD; CESARI, M; CARVALHO, AF; STUBBS, B; SOYSAL, PINARPublication Metadata only Food insecurity and physical multimorbidity among adults aged ≥ 50 years from six low- and middle-income countries.(2022-09-21T00:00:00Z) Smith, Lee; Shin, Jae Il; Jacob, Louis; López Sánchez, Guillermo F; Schuch, Felipe; Tully, Mark A; Oh, Hans; Veronese, Nicola; Soysal, PINAR; Butler, Laurie; Barnett, Yvonne; Koyanagi, Ai; SOYSAL, PINAR
