Abstract
ÖZETAmaç: Tıp fakültesi birinci sınıf öğrencilerinin ilkyardım uygulama ve derslerini desteklemek amacıyla oluşturulan e-öğrenme sitesinin hazırlanması ve kullanımı ile ilgili deneyimimizi paylaşmayı hedefledik.Gereç ve Yöntem: Bu pilot çalışmada, açık kaynak kodlu öğrenme içeriği yönetim sistemi (ÖİYS) kullanılarak web tabanlı bir eğitim kaynağı hazırlandı. İçerik için 11 uygulama ile 5 dersi içeren kurslar ve tıp terimleri için sözlük oluşturuldu. Sistemin kurulumu, içeriğin oluşturulması için harcanan süre kaydedildi. Sistem test edilip, öğrenciler kaydedildikten sonra, site açıldı ve öğrenci kullanımı gönüllülük esasına bırakıldı. Sistemi kullanan öğrenci sayısı, derslerin tamamlanma oranı ve sistemin kullanımı sırasında yaşanan sorunlar kaydedildi. Sistemi kullananlar geribildirim anketine katılmaya davet edildi.Bulgular: Sistemin sunucuya yüklenmesi 240 dk, uygulama videolarının hazırlanması 43.5[20-87] dk/video, kursların hazırlama süresi uygulamalar için 70 [45-320] dk/kurs, dersler için 317 [255-445] dk/kurs sürdü. Kayıtlı 513 öğrenciden 164 (%32) kişi sistemi kullandı. Ders tamamlanma oranı %97.2 [65.7-100] idi. Geribildirim anketine 27 (%16.7) kişi katıldı. Geribildirim veren öğrencilerin büyük kısmı sistemi arkadaşlarından öğrendiklerini, kişisel bilgisayarlarıyla sisteme bağlandıklarını, sistemi ve videoları yararlı, metinleri anlaşılır bulduklarını belirttiler. Teknik desteğin olmaması, duyurunun yetersizliği, tüm ders ve uygulamaların bulunmaması eleştirildi.Sonuç: Yaygın duyuru olmamasına rağmen öğrencilerin üçte birinin sistemi kullanması ve diğer derslerin eklenmesini talep etmesi, bu alandaki eksikliği göstermektedir. E-öğrenme hazırlık aşaması uzun, yoğun emek, teknik donanım, program ve maddi yatırım gerektiren bir sistemdir. Geri bildirimin yetersiz kaldığı dikkate alınarak, sistemin hazırlanması öncesinde gereksinimlerin ve öğrenci beklentilerinin belirlenmesinin ve e-öğrenimin profesyonel destekle kurumsal bazda oluşturulmasının eğitim açısından yarar sağlayacağı kanısındayız.Anahtar kelimeler: e-öğrenme, tıp eğitimi, ilkyardımABSTRACTObjective: Our aim is to share our experience on installing, content preparing and using e-learning system to support first aid training.Materials and Methods: In this pilot study, a web-based open source Learning Content Management System (LCMS) was installed. As content; eleven hands-on trainings and five courses as well as a dictionary for medical terms were prepared. Required time for system installation and content preparation were noted. Following system testing and registration of students, the website was open to access, and students used the system voluntarily. Number of students enrolled, course completion ratio and problems encountered were recorded. Participants were invited for a feedback survey.Results: Required duration for installing the system, preparing videos, creating content for hands-on training and courses were 240 min, 43.5[20-87] min/video, 70 [45-320] and 317 [255-445] min/course respectively. Out of 513 registered students, 164 students (32%) used the system. Course completion ratio was 97.2 % [65.7-100]. Only 27 (16.7%) students participated in feedback survey. Majority of the students participated feedback survey reported that they learned the system from their friends, they used their personal computers to connect, and found the system videos useful and finally evaluated the courses comprehensible. The main points criticized were the lack of technical support, inadequate announcement and unavailability of other courses in the system.Conclusion: One third of students used the system despite the low visibility and asked for further courses which indicates a deficit in this area. E-learning requires long preparation, intensive labor, technical hardware, software and financial support. When low number of feedback is taken into account, we believe that the system requirements and student expectations should be well-assessed before preparing e-learning site, and e-learning should be supported by professionally and institutionally.Key words: e-learning, medical education, first aid.
